Future Plans

TermSpring 2014
ActivitiesAssessment (measurement) of outcomes, Analysis and discussion of assessment data and next steps
DetailsFour sections of BSEN 74 will be offered in the spring, and instructors will continue to gather data on the percentage of students demonstrating success in achieving the learning outcomes. A 70 percent (or higher) average assignment score will indicate outcome achievement.

Although we encourage students to take BSEN 70 (Fundamentals of English Grammar and Composition) before BSEN 74 (Business Correspondence), 81% of the students surveyed indicated that BSEN 74 was their first course in the BSEN series. Because of this, students frequently begin BSEN 74 with inadequate grammar skills, and BSEN 74 instructors plan to meet to determine ways to more effectively present a grammar review at the beginning of the BSEN 74 course.

The BSEN 74 Student Self-Assessment/Satisfaction survey will be administered during the week of May 12, 2014. The survey results will be shared with other BSEN instructors to assist when planning the following semester's assignments and updating the course outline in Fall 2014.
